Because every family member is important ……

Beyond the need for a certain number of bedrooms or baths, size of lot, or location of home in relation to a gorgeous pond or lake, there may well be other less obvious, but perhaps equally important, concerns in our search for a primary residence or second home on Cape Cod. For example, many homeowners take into consideration their family pet when relocating to a new residence.

I have been traveling from the Washington, D.C. metro area to Cape Cod for a dozen years or so, specifically to whale and bird watch in Provincetown. A long-held dream finally came true, when I relocated here permanently two years ago. In the process of buying a home, I was concerned not only with the eventual  move to Harwich of my indoor-only cats, but with choosing a home that considered their needs, from safety and adjustment issues, to location of emergency veterinary services. Understanding that moving is perhaps the most stressful time for our family pets helped make for a successful transition.

Whether you are looking to buy a home on our little piece of paradise here on Cape Cod or wish to sell your current property, my goal is to make your experience a pleasant and positive one. I will work hard to help real estate clients realize their dream of home ownership in such a remarkable place.

Because every family member is important, if you have a family pet, perhaps this is another reason to call me, your Pet-Friendly Realtor. As a former Animal Shelter Executive, I specialize in the pet-human bond and can, therefore, help prepare you and your pets for a stress-free move.  My booklet, Pawsitively Pets (publish date: June 2010) provides tips on stress-free moving, traveling with pets, applicable pet laws, area veterinarians, and animal control and humane society locations, as well as pet supply shops, boarding facilities, and other related pet resources.

Ten percent of the proceeds I earn from each sold residence will be donated to local humane groups for the spay/neuter of homeless cats and dogs.

Welcome to Cape Cod!
